Lithium
Lithium is a chemical element of the first group, the second period of the periodic system. As a simple substance, it is a soft alkaline metal of silvery-white color. Lithium was discovered in 1817 by the Swedish chemist and mineralogist Johann Arfvedson, first in the mineral petalite, and then in spodumene and lepidolite.
